Connect EveryThing via cellular

We've created CECO HOME for the public. We haven’t locked it to any specific mobile operator, nor to any specific cloud. We want everyone who’s excited by the Always Smart Home to join us and get in there.

  • Create apps
  • Create services
  • Design and build solutions

How?

All CellThings in the CECO HOME will have Open API. We provide this and with your help we want to improve it. Using this API you can connect things to a cloud and have two-way communication with it, even if a SIM card doesn’t support an external IP. Then you just write your apps. Just imagine - you can have a live-stream communication with cellular connected things in a home without special SIM cards!

Challenge

How to provide two-way live-stream communication if most carriers do not provide an external, especially static, IP for their SIM cards?

If you don't use special expensive SIM cards with external IP, (often only available for business customers) then the cloud service will usually help you solve this problem. The device sends data to a cloud that has a permanent IP and the mobile phone reads the information from that cloud. This is a one-way communication when you read data (e.g. temperature) from a device via the cloud periodically, but you can't connect to the device directly to send data (e.g. switch-on command) to it. The device must have a permanent connection to the cloud to be able to be addressed from the outside at any time.

We've done it! Agreed, it's not a new problem, but there are no standards explaining how to implement it. And we are going to change this. Remember – we’re talking about cellular.

But something else...

Cloudless Solution

What if the cloud fails?

When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by...

Neither winds nor storms will disconnect you from your CECO HOME. It is cellular! All CellThings support direct accessible pure texting mode – a feature that won't be available for a Wi-Fi smart home. This is a truly Cloudless Solution!

  • SMS backup

Direct. No cloud, no IFTTT required.

  • Totally accessible

SMS protocol works everywhere. No problems with NAT, APN and other configurations. Build reliable solutions for your customers.

Ideas for developers

We’ve been in home automation since 2010 and we’ve collected tons of ideas from our customers from all over the world. We simply cannot implement them all and we offer you this opportunity, using Open API and hardware from us. We are going to share some ideas with you, probably in a form of a white paper. Meanwhile, we share a couple of the latest ideas from security industry that we have gotten from our customers. These ideas are quite clever, and we like them.

Share your ideas and join to discuss!

Anti jamming service for home security

Check availability of alarm system from an outside server and report in the event of signal loss, which can mean that someone might be trying to jam the signal. This alarm system can be designed based on any CellThing (e.g. CECO MODULE).

Alarm system for cars with an anti-jamming service

A cellular car alarm system will not report if a thief trying to jam the signal. One might have a car security system that regularly pings a pager from the car, but this is also vulnerable. Moreover, when traveling to another country, mobile traffic is expensive. Wouldn’t it be better if the car is pinged from an outside secure server. In that case the server will report when it can’t reach the car. This will be possible with CECO MODULE with Open API.
